Old Faithful
& the bison
Some places stay with me. Yellowstone is one of them—the steam, the impossible color, and the bison moving through it all like they own the place.
Stay awhile
From my camera roll
The photographs
I come back to
Not every favorite has to fit into a neat portfolio. These are the Yellowstone photographs I kept wanting to see together.
01
Steam & sky
Waiting for Old Faithful
The waiting is part of it. Then everything changes at once—the sound, the light, and that enormous white plume against the sky.

02
Among the herds
The ones who own the road
I could photograph bison all day. They can feel still and ancient one second, then completely change the shape of the landscape the next.

03
The living ground
Color that doesn’t look real
The blues, rusts, golds, and tiny mineral lines feel like another world. I still can’t believe the earth can make color like this.

Back home
There’s more
to see.
Come back to the rest of my work, or send me a note if you’d like to make something together here in Northwest Arkansas.
